Log Cabin Slogging

This is an ongoing project for Eric. It is a knitted log cabin blanket. I started this last winter after reading about it in "Mason*Dixon Knitting" by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne. The first one had so many mistakes I was going to frog it and start over but Eric wanted it for Alex his dog. So Alex got the first blanket and Eric will get the second.
This blanket is colors from my stash that Eric approved. The colors and logs are randomly chosen from two lists I generated from www.random.org
Since this picture was taken I am adding the next log to the lime green at the top of the picture and it too is lime green.
Below is a picture of Alex on his blanket.

Great log cabin! I see you are doing your own thing with spacing and size of stripes; good for you! This "log cabining" is so versatile it's endlessly morphing in my hands. I am on blanket VI and it's going to be different from all my others in all respects. I am happy to see you doing what you want with this. It looks wonderful! Beth

Alex looks very content on his hand knitted log cabin blanket. I think he needs a coordinating doggie sweater!!

would ou happen to know of a good book for a begining knitter as to how to make socks? I want to make my husband a pair of socks for Christmas and have only knit scarves thus far
